In a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, the Lodge of Friendship No. 750 in Cleckheaton recently presented Mr George Nelson with a beautifully engraved silver tankard to honour his dedication and service to the lodge. George, who is beginning his distinguished career as a Bugler with HM Royal Marines Band Service, has been a familiar and helpful presence at lodge events for several years. His contributions have been invaluable, assisting the lodge caterer with meal preparations and tirelessly helping with the clean-up afterwards.
The presentation was made by Bro Brian Sutcliffe, Junior Warden of the lodge, during a recent gathering. Speaking warmly to George, Bro Sutcliffe said:
“Wherever you are, and no matter how many miles away you are, you are part of
the extended family of the Lodge of Friendship, and you will always be welcome
here.”
George’s father, W Bro Carl Nelson, a member of the Lodge of Friendship, looked on with pride as his son was recognised by the brethren.
“This token of appreciation reflects not only George’s commitment to the lodge but also the values of service and community that we hold dear,” added Bro Sutcliffe.
The Lodge of Friendship continues to uphold its tradition of recognising and celebrating the
contributions of its members and their families, fostering a spirit of unity and gratitude.
