A Night of Celebration at the Lodge of Friendship No. 750

The Lodge of Friendship No. 750 recently enjoyed a truly memorable evening, marked by both personal and lodge‑wide milestones that will long be remembered by all in attendance.

The centrepiece of the evening was the presentation of a 50th Jubilee Certificate to Worshipful Brother Eddie Knowles, recognising his remarkable fifty years of dedicated service to Freemasonry. The certificate was formally presented by Worshipful Brother Fraser McPherson, Assistant Provincial Grand Master of the Province of Yorkshire, West Riding, lending the occasion great distinction and significance.

W Bro McPherson was accompanied by Worshipful Brother S. K. Lowe, PDGDC, along with two members of COPPS (Company of Provincial Stewards), whose presence further underlined the importance of the event and the esteem in which W Bro Knowles is held.

Adding to the warmth of the evening was the attendance of twelve members of W Bro Knowles’ family, who were present to witness this momentous achievement. Among them were his son and daughter‑in‑law, who had travelled especially from Orlando, Florida, to share in the celebration. Their presence served as a powerful reminder that Freemasonry is not only a commitment to the Craft, but a journey that resonates far beyond the lodge room, touching family and friends alike.

The evening also marked a significant milestone for the Lodge itself. On the same night, the Worshipful Master was presented with a certificate acknowledging that the Lodge of Friendship No. 750 has achieved the status of Grand Patron of the Festival. This recognition reflects the outstanding generosity and collective effort of the brethren in support of the Festival and its charitable aims.

In his response, the Worshipful Master expressed his sincere thanks to all members of the Lodge for their contributions, noting that such achievements are only possible through unity, generosity, and shared purpose.

The Lodge of Friendship No. 750 can take great pride in an evening that celebrated both long‑standing individual service and the collective charitable spirit of the Lodge. It was, in every sense, a night that embodied the true values of Freemasonry: friendship, commitment, family, and charity.
