Lodge of Friendship No. 750 Backs CleckHeath U14s with New Rugby Shirts

There were plenty of smiles on the faces of the CleckHeath Under-14s squad recently as the young players proudly pulled on their brand-new rugby shirts, kindly sponsored by the Lodge of Friendship No. 750.

The team, made up of players from both Cleckheaton Rugby Club and Heath Rugby Club, came together last season under the name “CleckHeath.” Bringing two clubs’ worth of talent into one squad that created not only a strong team on the pitch but also new friendships off it — and their new shirts now give them a shared identity to match.

Members of the Lodge of Friendship were delighted to support the initiative, ensuring that every player could look the part without families having to shoulder the cost. As one Lodge member said on presentation day:

“Seeing the pride on the lads’ faces when they tried on their shirts made it all worthwhile. Team sports are about building confidence, character, and friendship — and we’re proud to play a small part in helping these young players along the way.”

Coaches from both clubs thanked the Lodge for their generosity, noting how much difference sponsorship like this makes at grassroots level. “The boys love the shirts,” one coach said. “It gives them a real sense of belonging and pride, and that helps them play better together as a team.”

With their smart new kit and a strong season ahead, CleckHeath U14s are looking forward to flying their colours on the pitch, backed by the support of their clubs, families, and the Lodge of Friendship.
