Freemasons Spread Easter Joy with “Friendly Egg for Easter” Campaign

Members of the Lodge of Friendship No 750 have helped ensure that hundreds of local children will have something special to celebrate this Easter after collecting and donating more than 750 Easter eggs to charities and community groups across the area.

The initiative, known as the “Friendly Egg for Easter” campaign, was organised by the lodge with a simple aim: that no child should go without an Easter egg this Easter. Lodge members rallied together, gathering donations from fellow Freemasons, friends, and supporters in the community to create a large collection of chocolate treats ready for distribution.

The eggs have now been delivered to several local organisations who work directly with families and children in need. Among the beneficiaries were Cleckheaton Food Bank, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, and St Luke’s Nursery. These groups will distribute the eggs to children and families who may otherwise miss out on the traditional Easter treat.

Members of the lodge said the response to the campaign had been overwhelming, with the community coming together to support the effort. The collection of over 750 eggs far exceeded expectations and demonstrated the generosity and spirit of local residents.

Michael Spivey, the Worshipful Master for the Lodge said:

“Easter is a time for kindness and community, and we wanted to make sure that as many children as possible could enjoy the excitement of receiving an Easter egg. The support we’ve received has been fantastic, and we’re proud to be able to work with local charities who do such incredible work for families every day.”

The donations will now be shared among children supported by the organisations in the coming days, helping to bring a little extra joy during the Easter celebrations.

Through initiatives like the Friendly Egg for Easter campaign, the Lodge of Friendship continues to support the local community and highlight the positive impact that small acts of generosity can make when people come together.
