Installation of Worshipful Master Michael Spivey
The Lodge of Friendship celebrated a remarkable evening as W Bro. Michael Spivey was installed as the new Worshipful Master, marking the beginning of an exciting new year for our historic Lodge.
What made the evening even more memorable was the seamless and dignified way the ceremony was conducted despite an unexpected challenge. Due to the unforeseen illness of our current Worshipful Master, W Bro J. E. Clough stepped in at short notice to perform the Installation. His calm assurance, experience, and dedication ensured the ceremony retained the solemnity and significance that the occasion deserves. His efforts were warmly acknowledged by all present.
We were honoured by the attendance of W Bro Rev’d Roger Quick, the Provincial Grand Chaplain, representing the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master of Yorkshire, West Riding. His presence added great distinction to the evening, and his thoughtful words beautifully captured the spirit of the Lodge and the values we cherish.
In total, 70 Brethren gathered to witness the Installation—an impressive turnout that once again demonstrated the Lodge of Friendship’s well-earned reputation for warmth, unity, and genuine fellowship. The atmosphere throughout the evening was vibrant and uplifting, with Brethren old and new joining together to celebrate the beginning of W Bro Spivey’s year in the Chair.
As we look ahead, the Lodge of Friendship stands ready for another year of growth, charity, learning, and brotherhood under the guidance of our new Worshipful Master. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to W Bro Michael Spivey, our sincere thanks to W Bro J. E. Clough for his exemplary service on the night, and our warmest wishes to our outgoing Master for a speedy and full recovery.
